Alison Soro model, influencer & brand ambassador

She’s a fashion force to be reckoned with! Claudia Peifer chats to Allison Soro, who is half Irish, half Italian and based in Monaco – talk about being multi-cultural and embracing a thoroughly continental fashion style and looks. She speak several languages and is as media savvy as they come, having worked for SKY TV in London too. Allison has things to say, from nurturing healthy body positivity to being comfortable carrying off a variety of looks, and not just one she may be defined by. She loves her roles as a brand ambassador to several labels, representing yet another facet of her many talents, whilst taking her position as a role model and influencer extremely seriously.

Instagram is just one of her platforms, as she develops her own ideas as an entrepreneur as well. Another hat she wears is that of a celebrity blogger, which is why it’s no surprise, that she has been nominated at the World Blogger Awards for two years running. Forbes Magazine has listed her too, so get to know this person, who wants the world to take notice of her, and click that start button right now!

Allison Soro – Influencer

Allison Soro is a fashion influencer and a brand owner. She has been featured in Forbes France and recently has been nominated at the Worlds Blogger Awards 2020. Allison has worked to create her passion for fashion and blogging, along with her knowledge and experience in digital marketing, into a very successful career. Based across London, Paris and Monaco, she has a glamourous and exciting lifestyle, attending luxury events, and rubbing shoulders with icons of the fashion industry – we aren’t envious at all!
In our exclusive interview, Allison has given us her view not only on her life as an influencer, but on streetwear and high street fashion making its way into ready-to-wear designer collections as well, taking a deeper look into Miu Miu’s SS21 runway show and their incorporation of football culture and sportwear styling into their Ready-To-Wear collection!

Miu Miu SS21 Womenswear Collection

The Miu Miu SS21 collection was debuted as a digital experience, to adjust to the times we are currently living in. Miuccia Prada’s younger label ‘Miu Miu’ invited their audience to view their latest collection via video, allowing them the chance to engage in a new way, to be almost part of the show themselves. They can be seen on screens incorporated into the styling and design of the custom-built stage, acting literally as a runway itself. The stage design was created to fit in with and complement their latest spring/summer collection, noting the similarity it carries with sports stadiums, pitches and courts.

The Ready-To-Wear collection combines the styling of football training kit with feminine and decorated pieces, and we are fascinated by this cool laidback, streetwear styling being introduced with day-glam looks that are easy to wear! With relaxed pieces including Jersey jackets, chenille cardigans, straight pants, summer dresses and kitten heel mules borrowing design details from soccer boots, the collection takes complete inspiration from popular sportswear classics already seen on our highstreets, intending to be styles with key pieces by leading international sports brands. Miu Miu have described the collection as ‘simple silhouettes with sophisticated details, which combine sportswear archetypes with feminine tropes.’

London’s Highstreet Fashion Inspiring Trends and Designers

With the likes of Camden Market, Carnaby Street, Oxford and Regent Street, Dover Street Market, as well as Kensington Highstreet, Kings Road, Portobello Road, Hoxton and Spitalfields Market, London is a hive of fashion influence and cultural inspiration, being a regular trend-spotting haven for designers from all over the world, looking for inspiration and cultural movements. Across several decades we have seen London’s famous street-style evolve with the trends and runways. As much as the beloved street-style is always subtly an influence/twist on the runway looks we see every season, now we are starting to see the luxury fashion houses of London, Paris, NYC and Milan complete a full 180 degrees and take their inspiration from the streets. Very much like what we have seen in the latest Miu Miu collection, designers are beginning to take their research out into the world for cultural direction, or redirection more like, in order to focus on what is up and coming in fashion spaces across London. The introduction of jersey jackets and relaxed silhouettes as opposed to structured tailoring and fitted pieces, is a direct take from what we see characters of London’s fashion street-style wearing day to day.

It is an exciting time for fashion, as influence shifts with new role models, including leading lights not just in the music industry, such as rappers & DJs, but now also sports and the arts, mixing ‘foreign’ cultural inspiration with the designer label’s own heritage. Big-name brands have been adjusting to this new way of inclusive fashion to provide better access to the consumer, looking at what is popular amongst their audiences of millennials and reacting directly to the messages provided by posts on social media hubs such as Instagram, Pinterest and other leading platforms. We shall liken it to a new awakening, affording Ready-To-Wear collections a new reality, although price points are certainly not going to leave the lofty heights of designer price levels – after all, designer fashion, as a statement, must be recognised for what it represents: luxury at any cost!
