Birmingham – NEC Classic Motor Show: 8-10 Nov’24
NEC Classic Motor Show: What To Expect from 8-10 Nov’24?
Petrolheads of the world unite – at the NEC Motor Show in Birmingham! With vintage cars and modern classics galore, this show offers incredible gems, unmissable deals and loads of great contacts and networking opportunities.
If you caught our journey around the Geneva International Motorshow, you’ll know we’re cuckoo about cars too. So, Claudia Peifer made her way down to the NEC for TA-DAH.TV to see what all the fuss was about and boy was she entertained!
Here’s everything we know about this awesome automotive extravaganza, including what classic cars are on offer and what else to expect outside of hotrod spotting.
What is the NEC Classic Motor Show?
The NEC Classic Motor Show is the UK’s biggest classic car show and an absolute ‘must attend’ in every car enthusiast’s calendar.
Held every November, the numbers of this event should tell you everything you need to know about how popular it is. Bringing together 3,000+ motors, over 330 clubs, more than 350 traders and around 500 classic cars and bikes for sale too.
This is the place for car lovers and we loved seeing the fantastic restorations of classics like the AC Cobra, the Friskies, a psychedelic Messerschmitt, gorgeous Jaguar models and loads more…
Our Classic Motor Show Top Picks
In a space full to the rafters with incredible autos, it can be difficult to know where to look next. But, we must admit, we did have our favourites.
James Bond’s Aston Martin DB4
On the trail of James Bond’s motors: the DB4, with an engine in such perfect conditions, had our jaws on the floor. For a cool 3/4 of a million GB Pounds, this baby could be yours.
Although not for driving…it’ll most likely go straight into the show space of a private collector, as this is pure gold dust on wheels.
Classic Lotus’s
The Lotus display was also great to see. But, for us, the 1971 Lotus Elan plus2 simply stole the show on that stand. How beautiful is the design of this car???
Aston Martin Volante & Oscar India
Heading straight to Aston Martin next, the AM V8 Volante still looks as gorgeous as ever (David Beckham must have agreed, as he took his to Spain when he played for Real Madrid).
However, the V8 Oscar India still tops the lot in style, elegance and sheer muscle power. Driven by Timothy Dalton’s Bond in 1978’s “The Living Daylights” it’s as chic and demure as the infamous spy himself.
Superleggera Coupe
The Aston Martin Superleggera Coupe was another showstopper, which our presenter Claudia Peifer actually tried out and sat in at the Geneva International Motor Show too.
It’s a beast of a car, no doubt, and was used in the James Bond film ’No Time To Die’. A proper style icon in the Aston range, it’s already a classic and an absolute killer to drive…so they say!
What’s On at the Classic Motor Show?
The Classic Motor Show is not to be missed. A popular event with passionate petrol heads and classic car enthusiasts, the event has everything you would wish to see from the world of oldtimers and more recent motors.
The arena is packed with displays and stands by classic car dealers and motorcycle clubs, allowing visitors to get up close to some collectible and rare vintage motors and more recent gems. All thanks to a range of vehicles on offer within The Dealer Hall, including a spectacular selection from Silverstone Auctions.
But, as well as being able to admire these beauties, you can also shop for elusive pieces in the autojumble sale, sourcing parts for your classic car collection, whether your much-loved car requires some TLC or maintenance and restoration work. Discuss top tips with automobile experts, mingle with the professionals, or join talks from motoring celebs and specialists – expanding your ever-growing knowledge of the classic motor industry.
